Volunteer
Our Committee is always happy to have new volunteers to help us in our important work of electing well-qualified Democrats to office. We work with our local candidates, Ulster County candidates, state representatives, Congressional representatives, as well as our national candidates. We have volunteers driving candidates, canvassing, making phone calls, writing postcards, hosting events, providing refreshments, and many other things. There is a job to fit everyone’s talents! To get involved, send an email to esopusdemcommittee@gmail.com.

Join the Committee
You are always welcome to join our monthly meetings, currently on Zoom. This is the best introduction to the work of a committee member. Should you decide you would like to join, the first step is to become an Associate Member. You will need to attend 3 meetings within 12 months and be nominated by an EDC Member. You will be assigned to an election district (we have 7 in Esopus) and you will assist the Members assigned to that district in their work of petitioning, canvassing, making phone calls, and helping with committee activities. To begin the process, send an email to esopusdemcommittee@gmail.com.
Committee Members are elected by their election district. We have 7 election districts in Esopus, and state law allows 2 representatives per election district. Committee Members attend and vote in county and town committee meetings on endorsements, nominations, carry petitions and campaign for Democratic candidates, reach out to constituents in their election district, and participate in committee activities. For more information, send an email to esopusdemcommittee@gmail.com.
